Content - The Key to Success With Your Residual Income Affiliate Program

If you are new to working from home and are trying to build a residual income online, you are faced with a pressing need. That need is to get people to find you. How do you accomplish this and will it cost a lot of money?
The answer is it can but it certainly doesn't have to. You could spend a lot of money on things like pay per click, banner ads and other forms of advertising. You could also spend hours posting in forums and online groups trying to promote your residual income affiliate program.
Although these methods are all effective, there is another way that is not only free but will bring targeted traffic for a long period of time. I am talking about article marketing. If I had to choose only one method of marketing this would be it.
Because people are continually looking for new content, particularly articles, your material will give you good exposure. Your articles, with links to your website, will increase traffic to your site over time. This is the ultimate goal. You want people to be able to find you and see what you have to offer.
If potential customers do not know you are there you will never be able to build a residual income. You can advertise all you want but content is king. If you can get enough content out there then you will get traffic.
Fresh content is also looked highly upon by the search engines. The more fresh content you have the better your ranking will be. This means more traffic which means more money in your pocket.
There are very specific things that need to be done to make the process effective. That is a topic to be covered in another article. For now, here is the basic outline of how to do article marketing.
Let's say you want to promote your residual income affiliate program. The first thing you need to do is write an article about your topic. The article should be between 350 and 750 words. 500 is the number that I usually shoot for.
Make sure you use your keywords in the article (look for more articles that will cover this topic in greater detail). This is very important for your article to get the best exposure. Do not overlook this step.
The article doesn't have to be super high quality. In other words, don't feel like you have to have a masters degree in English. Just write something that is useful to the reader and is something that they would be interested in. If you can't or don't want to write articles, this can be outsourced.
Although it doesn't have to be written by an English professor, make sure you check the grammar and spelling. You don't want to have any misspelled words or incomplete sentences. This will reduce the effectiveness of your article.
Make sure to use the resource box at the bottom of the article (This is another topic that will be explained in greater detail in future articles). This is where you give the reader information about you, the author. This is also where you give them the ability to find your site.
The last step is to submit the article to various article submission sites. There are many sites that you can submit your article to. Some are better than others but there really are no bad ones. The article will be posted where people can find them. As mentioned earlier, this will also help your search engine rankings.
Keep in mind that one article alone will not do a whole lot for you. This is a process that needs to be repeated consistently. Over time you will have a good presence on the internet and people will find you.
The more content you have the more traffic you will get to your site.
You can see now how this process will help you generate a residual income. If you do it correctly it is very effective. It won't happen overnight but if you are consistent and stick with it you will be amazed at the results.
